Containers of art, nature and spirituality from around the world

May 29th – June 8th, 2008

ContainerArt, in collaboration with the Palazzo Ducale Foundation for Culture and the Museum of Fine Arts of Kaohsiung, will introduce upon the roads, parks and squares of Genova 23 containers functioning as aesthetic agents inside Genova's cultural ecosystems, reinforcing positive cultural processes.

Art Containers to help discover what a place can hide, or remember what a place has forgotten. What was here, before the city?

Containers of atonement, cleansing a place of the cultural poisons which pollute it, offering a chance for catharsis.

Containers as chapels, to help the city speak with its soul through the medium of art. When least expected, when defenses are low and superstructures weak.

Kaohsiung and Genova, both port-cities which must reflect upon their urban, ecological, economical and cultural balance.

Mechanical Art from Kaohsiung: exhibition of recycled metal sculptures from Kaohsiung – From the 27th May to the 8th of June in Palazzo Ducale (Piazza Matteotti 8) Open Mon-Fry 2 to 7pm, Sat-Sun 10am to 8 pm. Closed on Monday, June 2nd.

Beauty Inside. Yoga among metal sculptures and presentation – taking the form of a guided meditation – of the book which represents ContainerArt's manifesto. Saturday, June 7th, Palazzo Ducale (Piazza Matteotti 8), 6pm.

Writer's Delight. Writers' performance on two containers at the Porto Antico, Sunday, June 8th, from 2pm.

Open words on the roofs, in cooperation with the International Poetry Festival of Genova. Let the poets speak out. At the Porto Antico, Sunday, June 8th, 4pm.

Au revoir les Artistes – when all is said and done, one last toast to celebrate artists and poets, at the Garibaldi Café, via dei 4 Canti di S. Francesco 40. Sunday, June 8th, 7pm.

ContainerArt Shuttle by Mini: from Piazza Matteotti to Corso Italy. Visit the 3 containers placed in Corso Italy, then chill out on the beach. A free shuttle service, complete with driver, offered by Mini. Sunday, June 8th, from 11am to 3pm. Starting point: Piazza Matteotti 8, in front of the container.
